Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage

One of the most common types of massage, it combines various techniques (effleurage, pettrissage, percussion, kneading etc) to break up muscle knots and tension. It can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and stimulating, depending on desired results.

Hot and Cold Stones

Hot and Cold Stones Massage

Basalt stones have been used by many cultures for massage. Using hot stones can have a greater effect on the body than a normal massage - it is said that one stoke along the body with a hot stone is equivalent to five with the hand alone! It is deeply relaxing and calming. I combine this with the use of marble cold stones for an extra boost! Removing toxins, improving skin tone and reducing inflammation - called Geothermal therapy.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release

A very gentle approach which aims to restore mobility to restricted structures within the body thereby releasing tension in the muscles and connective tissue. Works within the other massage techniques/modalities.

Aromatherapy Massage

Gentle massage using the amazing healing qualities of pure aromatherapy oils, which work through the skin, but also through the olfactory system to affect the brain and body, soothing and calming, working on the emotions as well as the physical level for many different healing benefits.

Lomilomi Massage

A unique healing massage from Hawaii ( it means 'loving hands'). The therapist works gently but deeply into the muscles with continuous flowing strokes. This is a full body massage given in fluid rhythmic motions, using the forearms as well as the hands. Passive stretches may be performed and the client is a participant in their massage and their healing. It is a more spiritual massage experience.
